FBR not to extend deadline for filing income tax returns

The Fed­eral Board of Revenue (FBR) reiterated on Friday that today will be the last day to file the income tax returns and vowed that there will be no extension in the date.

An FBR official in a statement said that the last date of filing income tax returns for individuals, associations of persons and organisations is October 15 (today).

The statement further said that more than Rs45 billion has been collected and the number of tax return fillers has exceeded 2.3 million, so far.

The FBR has also issued instructions to all the field offices to remain open and observe extended working hours till 08:00 pm on Friday to facilitate the taxpayers.

The tax collection body has further instructed that authorised branches of the National Bank of Pakistan to ensure the transfer of tax collection.

The online system is working efficiently and the authorised branches of the National Bank will also remain open till 8pm to facilitate the taxpayers, FBR said.
