ISLAMABAD: A large number of businessmen have appreciated the Board of Investment (BoI) team for timely resolution of their complaints and facilitating investors in every possible way, a statement said.

In this regard, the Board of Investment organized an “e-kachehry to establish a connection between its officials and the businessmen.

After successfully conducting the first e-kachehry in August, the Board of Investment held its second e-kachehry on November 17, 2021.

Board of Investment (BoI) secretary Fareena Mazhar conducted the e-kachehry at the BoI head office in Islamabad.

Investors and consultants came forward with a wide range of queries, including setting up of branch offices, investment in Special Economic Zones (SEZs), acquiring business visas, investment in priority sectors, etc.

The BoI secretary and other officers promptly addressed the majority of queries raised during the session.

As for issues pertaining to other departments, Fareena Mazhar assured of their immediate communication to the concerned authorities and devising a follow-up mechanism for efficient resolution.

Speaking to the relevant audiences via zoom and telephone, Fareena Mazhar encouraged investors to share their project proposals and observations with the Board of Investment for further coordination on the matters of importance.

Several other BoI officers were also part of the Kachehry included additional secretaries Mukarram Jah Ansari, Khashi-ur-Rehman, Riffat Pervez and director-general Suriya Jamal.

The activity was aimed at strengthening public trust and developing a linkage between the government machinery and investors.

Fareena Mazhar underscored the importance of this outreach initiative and said that the e-kachehry will become a permanent feature of the BoI in due course of time.
