Miftah Ismail emphasised importance of keeping sugar strategic reserves

ISLAMABAD: Finance Minister Miftah Ismail has informed the Pakistan Sugar Mills Association (PSMA) that the current government is aware of the concerns confronting Pakistan’s sugar industry and is eager to address them as soon as possible.

During a meeting in the Finance Ministry on Friday, the finance minister was speaking with PSMA Chairman Chaudhry Zaka Ashraf. The conference was also attended by the Secretaries of Finance, Commerce, NFS&R, and I&P, as well as other senior executives.

The finance minister emphasised the importance of preserving strategic sugar stockpiles and regulating sugar prices in the country to avoid price hikes and provide maximum comfort to the population.

He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to promoting economic activity and assisting the business community in achieving long-term growth in the country.
