A statement from the Chinese market regulator on Friday said that Tesla Inc. is recalling more than 80,000 cars made in China or imported from China. The cars have problems with the software or the seat belts.

The U.S. company that makes electric cars has called back 67,698 Model S and Model X cars that were shipped to China between September 25, 2013 and November 21, 2020. This is because the cars’ battery management systems had software problems.

Tesla (TSLA) said that it will update the software in vehicles that were recalled.

Tesla also called back 10,127 Model 3 cars made in China between October 14, 2019 and September 26, 2022 and 2,736 Model 3 cars made in China between January and November 2019. It said that this could be because of a problem with how the seat belts were put in. Tesla will check and reinstall the seat belts.

In April, Tesla called back 127,785 Model 3 cars in China because some of their semiconductor parts might be broken and cause accidents.
