The original Fortuner made its debut in Pakistan in February 2013. It was initially available in two versions: the Fortuner 2.7 VVT-i and TRD Sportivo, both powered by the 2.7-liter 2TR-FE engine.

In 2015, the second iteration of the Toyota Fortuner was introduced. This version showcased a fresh design approach labeled as the ‘keen look’, setting it apart from the Hilux. It incorporated contemporary features such as ABS, EBD, dual airbags in addition to knee airbags, a follow me home light function, all-around sensors, a glove box with cooling functionality, digital automatic climate control, and power windows that automatically closed, along with an adjustable tilt and telescopic steering wheel, all as standard features.
