Karachi: The Sindh government has launched the eagerly awaited “Peoples Bus Service,” ushering in a new era of efficient and accessible transit options. The highlight of this innovative addition is the introduction of the electric bus route, EV-1, which promises a greener and more sustainable future for Karachi’s commuters.

The Peoples Bus Service features a fleet of modern, air-conditioned red buses designed for the comfort of approximately 40 passengers, with dedicated sections for women. With standing room for an additional 40 commuters, these buses ensure a convenient travel experience for all.

In keeping with affordability, the standard fare for most routes is set at an economical PKR 50. Notably, Route 9 incurs a slightly higher fare of PKR 100 after Malir Halt.

This cost-effective pricing structure aims to make the People’s Bus Service an accessible choice for a broad spectrum of Karachi’s population.

The introduction of electric buses, including EV-1, EV-2, and EV-3, marks a significant leap forward in Karachi’s public transportation system. Focusing on EV-1, this electric vehicle covers a distance of 28 kilometers and is currently operational.
