To visit Sweden for tourism purposes, Pakistani citizens need to obtain a short-term Schengen visa. Sweden, situated in the European Union, boasts stunning landscapes including coastal islands, inland lakes, boreal forests, and mountains, making it a highly sought-after destination for travelers worldwide.

Handling Schengen visa applications for Pakistani citizens and Afghan residents in Pakistan, the Swedish Embassy has designated VFS Global centers in various Asian cities, such as Bangkok, Yangon, Hanoi, and others, for visa submissions. Applicants have the flexibility to choose the location for visa submission based on their convenience and may need to arrange visas in those countries if required.

Sweden Visit Visa Fee:

As of February 26, 2024, the fee for a Schengen visa from the Swedish Embassy is 80 Euros, equivalent to approximately PKR 24,236. This fee covers the processing and administrative costs associated with the visa application.

Proof of Financial Means:

Applicants are required to demonstrate their financial capability and ties to their country of residence, indicating their social and economic status in Pakistan. This documentation is crucial for ensuring that applicants can financially support themselves during their stay in Sweden.

Minimum Bank Balance Requirement:

To fulfill the financial requirement, applicants must provide bank statements covering the past six months, authenticated by the bank. The statements should illustrate a consistent financial standing. Specifically, applicants need to maintain a minimum daily balance equivalent to EUR 2,400 (approximately Rs727,104) for a 30-day stay in Sweden.

Ensuring Financial Stability:

The minimum bank balance requirement aims to ensure that applicants have sufficient funds to cover their expenses during their intended stay in Sweden. By verifying financial stability, the visa process aims to mitigate the risk of applicants facing financial difficulties while abroad.

Overall, the visa application process for visiting Sweden entails providing evidence of financial means and demonstrating ties to the applicant’s home country, ensuring a smooth and hassle-free travel experience.
