As summer approaches, there’s a surge in demand for solar panels in the country, resulting in a notable price hike. The cost of solar panels has skyrocketed, with prices jumping from Rs. 75,000 to Rs. 300,000.

For instance, a 7-kilowatt system, previously priced at Rs. 850,000, now exceeds Rs. 920,000. Similarly, a 10-kilowatt system has risen from Rs. 11 lac to Rs. 12.5 lac.

Likewise, a 12-kilowatt system’s price has jumped to Rs. 16 lac from Rs. 14 lac, and a 15-kilowatt system now costs Rs. 18 lac, marking a Rs. 300,000 increase.

Primarily impacting grid-connected solar panel systems, hybrid setups with batteries for energy storage face additional costs. This surge strains consumers financially, notably those engaged in the government’s net metering project.

The fluctuating prices stem from various economic factors and occasional political instability within Pakistan. Brand reputation, efficiency ratings, capacity, and installation requirements also contribute to the rising costs.
