Cooking oil & Ghee Prices: During March, a general decrease in the prices of banaspati ghee and cooking oil has been observed in the country.
According to the statistics released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, the average price of 5 kilograms of cooking oil in March 2024 was recorded at Rs 2,652.88, which is 2.74% lower compared to February. In February, the average price of 5 kilograms of cooking oil in the country was recorded at Rs 2,727.71.

Additionally, five federal ministers have been given extra portfolios, as per the notification issued.
In March, the average price of 1.25 kilograms of ghee was recorded at Rs 1,289.52, which is 1.2% lower compared to February. In February, the average price of 1.25 kilograms of banaspati ghee was recorded at Rs 1,305.17.
According to statistics, the average price of 1 kilogram of banaspati ghee was recorded at Rs 497.90, which is 0.53% lower compared to February. In February, the average price of 1 kilogram of banaspati ghee was recorded at Rs 500.53.
In March, the average price of 1 liter of mustard oil was recorded at Rs 501.09, which is slightly higher compared to February when it was Rs 500.03.
On the other hand, the World Bank has predicted a decrease in the inflation rate in the country during the fiscal year 2023-2024. However, the World Bank expects the country’s GDP growth rate to remain at 3% over the next 3 years and to be 1.8% during the current fiscal year.
