Dubai and other UAE emirates’ authorities have instructed offices to adopt work-from-home policies and schools to conduct online classes because of expected strong winds and heavy rains.

The UAE’s National Center of Meteorology in its forecast said, “Fresh to strong at times winds with speed of 70 km/hr and rough to very rough sea at times with wave height reaching 11 Ft at times offshore in Arabian Gulf from 18:35 Monday 15/04/2024 till 18:35 Tuesday 16/04/2024”.

Due to the weather forecast, Dubai’s authorities have told offices to have employees work from home temporarily, and schools to hold online classes instead of in-person ones.

They’ve also advised motorcyclists to avoid unnecessary travel due to unpredictable weather. Schools in Dubai have informed parents about the online classes, and emergency services are taking steps to keep the public safe.
