Maryam Nawaz secures billions in Chinese investment for Punjab
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s visit to China concluded with significant achievements, as Chinese companies pledged over Rs. 13 billion in investments for Punjab. Reports indicate that this milestone represents a major step towards fostering economic growth and global partnerships in the province.
During the Punjab Investment Conference hosted by Maryam Nawaz in China, several landmark agreements were inked. These partnerships involve key sectors such as IT, environmental protection, and green energy. Notably, Gobi Partners announced the creation of a $50 million (Rs. 13.88 billion) investment fund for Punjab, facilitated by Maryam’s strategic leadership.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed between Solar N Plus, a Chinese firm, and the Punjab government to promote solar technology. Furthermore, an agreement was finalized between Gobi Partners and the Bank of Punjab to enhance technology startups in the province.
The Gobi Fund is set to revolutionize the ecosystem for startups and SMEs in Punjab by offering loans, equity investments, financial solutions, and mentorship programs. This initiative aims to strengthen businesses, fostering sustainable growth and innovation.
The fund is expected to play a pivotal role in steering Punjab toward a sustainable and digital economy, positioning the province as a leader in technology and entrepreneurship across the region.
