Vehicle tax payment deadline extended to January 15
The Islamabad Excise and Taxation Department has announced an extension for vehicle token tax payments, giving vehicle owners until January 15, 2025, to settle their dues without facing penalties. This decision provides an additional 15 days for citizens to complete their payments and avoid late charges.
The department has warned that failure to pay the tax on time could result in the cancellation of vehicle registrations and impose penalties of up to 200% of the unpaid tax amount.
To assist taxpayers, excise offices will remain open until 8:00 PM for payments. Director Excise, Bilal Azam, has urged vehicle owners to take advantage of the extension to prevent any legal repercussions.
In a bid to simplify services for residents, the Excise Department provided vehicle-related services such as registration, transfers, and tax payments at the Trail 3 parking lot on Thursday afternoon. This was part of an effort to offer citizens more convenience.
The Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration has also introduced the ICT Doorstep service, allowing citizens to access various administrative services at their homes. Services like domicile certificates, birth certificates, international driving permits, and fuel permits can now be requested easily.
Residents can schedule appointments by contacting the toll-free number 051-111-383-383 for these services, ensuring hassle-free access to essential documents. The extension of the payment deadline and the introduction of these services aim to simplify processes for the public.
