Gold prices decline after prolonged surge in Pakistan

KARACHI: After a period of continuous increase, gold prices have registered a noticeable decline across Pakistan.

According to the All Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Association(APGJA), the price of gold per tola has dropped by Rs3,700, bringing it down to Rs482,462 nationwide.

Similarly, the price of 10 grams of gold decreased by Rs3,172 and is now being sold at Rs413,633, the association reported.

Meanwhile, in the international market, gold prices fell by $37 to $4,601 per ounce.

Earlier, the gold prices in Pakistan surged to a historic high, reflecting a sharp upward trend in both local and international markets.

According to the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association, the price of gold per tola rose by Rs4,300, pushing it to an all-time high of Rs486,162.

The association further reported that the price of 10 grams of gold increased by Rs3,687, reaching Rs416,805.

Meanwhile, in the international market, gold prices climbed by $43, trading at $4,638 per ounce, contributing to the record surge in domestic rates.
