KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Monday heard the case of multiple FIRs against PTI leader Azam Swati and ordered Inspector General of Police (IGP) Ghulam Nabi Memon to present a report regarding the cases.

Justice Muhammad Karim Khan Agha instructed the IG to present a report on the cases against Azam Swati and inquired Prosecutor General regarding how multiple FIRs were lodged in a single case.

The prosecutor requested the court some time maintaining that the petition was filed in SHC today and they will be needing time to prepare.

However, the court rejected the request and instructed to be prepared by tomorrow.

Justice Karim Khan Agha also instructed the prosecutor to summon the SSPs of all the regions in the province where the cases were registered.

The court also remarked that if the explanation was not presented for filing multiple cases against Azam Swati then strict action will be taken.

Which, IG Sindh ensured the court that they have been working on the case but Justice Agha suggested that if he was not willing to work then may resign.

The court directed the Prosecutor General and IG Sindh to reply on December 14.

Pertinently, Swati is currently in Sindh police custody for three days in two cases over his controversial tweets about senior military leaders.
