LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) disposed of the petition against the denotification of CM Punjab on the basis of the withdrawal of the notice by the governor.

The attorney general confirmed the withdrawal on behalf of the governor after the vote of confidence taken by Pervaiz Elahi in the Punjab Assembly last night.

The court quashed the December 22 notification of Chief Secretary Punjab to remove Pervaiz Elahi as CM Punjab and remarked that Elahi remains victorious in the floor test.

Earlier, Pervaiz Elahi challenged his denitification issued at the order of the governor.

Pertinently, Pervaiz Elahi took the vote of confidence yesterday and 186 members of the PA showed trust in him on the floor.
