LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) Wednesday recommended forming a full bench for the hearing of the plea to remove Imran Khan as PTI chief and barred ECP from taking any action against him.
As per details, the case was heard in the LHC today and Justice Jawad Hassan sent the case to the Chief Justice for further hearing while adjourning the hearing till January 17.
The court remarked that two similar petitions were before the full bench headed by the Chief Justice that were dismissed and added that the verdict in the two cases must be reviewed.
Notably, the case was initiated by ECP following his disqualification in the Toshakhana reference.
Earlier, LHC larger bench on Monday disposed of two identical petitions concerning Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan’s disqualification by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) in the Toshakhana reference.
As the bench headed by Chief Justice Muhammad Ameer Bhatti resumed its hearing, Advocate Azhar Siddique, a counsel for one of the petitioners, stated that the petitioner wanted to withdraw the petition since former prime minister Imran Khan had personally approached the court against his disqualification in the Toshakhana case.
