Sindh High Court (SHC) has directed the Pakistan Medical Commission (PMC) to issue the MDCAT results together.

According to the details, one test of MDCAT was held on November 29, whereas the other one will be held on December 13, for the students who were affected by the novel coronavirus.

SHC bench, headed by Justice Nadeem Akhtar, issued the directives to the PMC, in its detailed judgment on a plea seeking the cancellation of the MDCAT.

Media reports earlier said that PMC Vice-president Barrister Ali Raza had said that the results of the students who appear in the entrance exam on November 29 would be announced in 10 days while the exam for those candidates who had tested positive for coronavirus was scheduled for December 13.

In its judgment, the SHC remarked that since the PMC’s council had approved a separate test for students suffering from the coronavirus, therefore, conducting the subject tests on two different dates could not be considered illegal or ultra vires of the PMC Act.

The court remarked that it could not ignore the extraordinary and dangerous situation prevailing due to the coronavirus pandemic.
