‘Game of Thrones’ star Sean Bean said that he is no longer interested in taking on acting roles that lead to his character’s death.

He further stated “I have played a lot of baddies, they were great but they weren’t very fulfilling and I always died.”

While giving an interview to British newspaper, the British actor said that after nearly two dozen of his characters died across 35-years in the business, he has become scrupulous, he added.

He further said “I have turned down stuff. I have said, ‘they know my character’s going to die because I’m in it!’ I just had to cut that out and start surviving, otherwise it was all a bit predictable.”

The 60-year-old actor said that “I’d read the ‘Game of Thrones’ books and they said to me, ‘You do die in this, but it’s near the end of the series’. And I was like, ‘Yeah, yeah, fair enough’. So they made it very clear at the time I was going to die, and I thought, ‘I don’t want to get stuck in one of these series that lasts seven years’.

Sean Bean starred in the first season of Game of Thrones and played the part of Lord Eddard Stark.

Bean’s iconic roles include Alec Trevelyan in ‘GoldenEye’, and Boromir in ‘The Lord of the Rings’.

Game of Thrones ties its previous record for most wins for a single season of television. The show previously won 12 awards for its fifth season in 2015, setting a new record.

The finale of Game of Thrones, the eight-season, released this year. Since 2011, HBO’s “Game of Thrones” has garnered 160 Emmy nominations and taken home 59 prizes for everything from acting and editing to special effects and sound mixing.
