45th death anniversary of the renowned classical, semi-classical and and grand maestro Ustad Amanat Ali Khan is being observed today, on Tuesday.

The legendary classical singer Ustad Amanat Ali Khan was born in the eminent and most respectable musical family of ‘Patiala’ of Sub-Continent in 1922.

Ustad Amanat Ali started learning pure classical music from his father Ustad Akhtar Hussain who also was popular and established classical singer of that era and started off his musical career with Radio Pakistan after migrating to Pakistan.

The maestro reached to the skies of fame because of his soulful voice which touches the heart strings in the most beautiful manner.

During the peak of his popularity on the radio and TV, Amanat performed in various countries around the world.

He released many ghazals, including Insha Ji Utho Ab Kuch Karo, Honton Pe Kabhi Unke Mera Naam, Mora Jiya Na Lagay, Kab Aogay, Yah Na Thi Humari Qismat, Yeh Arzoo Thi Tujhe Gul and many others, which are still remembered by fans.

He was also given the Pride of Performance award by the government of Pakistan due to his excellent music services.

The star died on September 18 1974 in Lahore, aged 52.
