A Mexican couple has converted to Islam after watching Turkish television series Resurrection: Ertugrul.

According to the details, the couple converted to Islam after Celal Al who plays Abdul Rahman Alp in the TV series gave a speech about his hit drama and Turkey.

The couple met Celal Al during the 22nd annual meeting of the Muslim American Society and Celal Al was the guest of Zekat Foundation.

After the meeting, a Mexican couple converted to Islam by reciting the Kalima Shahadat (Islamic proclamation of faith) with the help of the Turkish actor.

The couple said ’we were affected by Turkish TV series”Resurrection: Ertuğrul’’ and Turkey’s humanitarian activities around the world, and then decided to become Muslim.’’

After becoming Muslims, famous actor gifted the couple two Qurans, one in English and another in Spanish, as well as a Turkish flag.

Since its premiere on state-run Turkish TV channel TRT 1 in November 2014, the serial has been on aired in 60 countries.
