The federal government has announced a significant allocation in the budget for the next financial year for the financial assistance and welfare of artists.

According to the details, the Federal Minister for Industries and Production said that artists are a valuable asset to our country. On the directive of the President, the Government of Pakistan has increased the amount of Artist Welfare Fund for the financial assistance and welfare of artists.

He said that the Artist Welfare Fund for financial assistance and welfare of artists has been increased from Rs. 250 million to Rs. 1 billion.

A meeting of the National Assembly was held under the chairmanship of Speaker Asad Qaiser in which the Federal Minister for Industries and Production presented the budget for the next financial year.

The federal government has presented a budget of Rs 72.94 trillion for the financial year 2020-2020 in which no new tax has been imposed to provide relief to the people while the circle around tax evaders has been tightened.

In the budget for the next financial year, the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has set a revenue target of Rs 49.50 trillion. Rs 650 billion has been allocated for the federal development program.
