Indian Music company T- series, forcefully removed the song of Pakistani Singer Atif Aslam from its Youtube Chanel after facing serious backlash.

Media reports said that #TakeDownAtifAslamsong also started trending on Twitter after the uploaded song triggered anger among netizens.

The song from the film Marjaavaan was made private two days after its release. The song was uploaded on June 23.

It was a cover of the song ‘Kinna Sona’ composed initially by Meet Brothers for the film Marjaavan, starring Sidharth Malhotra and Tara Sutaria.

Many people took to social media and demanded a ban on T-series altogether for releasing the song despite FWICE’s demand on ban of Pakistani artists in India.

After removing the song, the label then shared an apology.

The statement read,

“It has been brought to our notice that the said song has been sung by Atif Aslam and this song was put up on the YouTube channel of T-Series by one of our employees from the promotion team. He was unaware of his action and erred while putting up the song.”
