Over the past few months, ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’ has been accused of toxicity and bad behavior by producers and the host herself. It appears that DeGeneres is trying to turn over a new leaf amid season 18 of her talk show.

The star apologizes for not living up to her “kind” persona, and now she’s also changing her look. She went for a new hairstyle that is being largely recognized and is making headlines.

After many people came forward complaining that her show’s work environment had become toxic, Ellen DeGeneres finally addressed the issue.

“I learned that things happened here that never should have happened,” she said. “I take that very seriously and I want to say I am so sorry to the people who were affected. I know that I’m in a position of privilege and power, and I realize that with that comes responsibility and I take responsibility for what happens at my show.”

Though she had apologized, her show’s ratings continue to drop. According to USA Today, the average viewership for the talk show is way down from 2.67 million to 1.66 million.

Ellen’s current looks appear to be giving a nod to the 50’s as she struggles to rebuild and re-brand her show. The slicked back new hairstyle might just be signaling a fresh start for the comedian after many controversies and tumbling show ratings.
