A ban on TikTok that was supposed to come into effect on Thursday night has been suspended by the US Commerce Department.
The regulation would have prohibited downloading of the application in the US.
The Commerce Department deferred the ban “pending further legal developments,” following a September Philadelphia court decision where three most popular TikTokers asserted that the app should be authorized to function in America.
For the approximate 100 million US TikTok users, the verdict would be a relief.
The deal was tentatively endorsed by Donald Trump. Whereas on Tuesday, TikTok stated that the US government has not given any response.

President Donald Trump said he wants TikTok to be sold to the company situated in the US.
Both he and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo have consistently confirmed that data from U.S. users
maybe transferred on to the Chinese government, but there has been no evidence to demonstrate this.
