Actor Shaan Shahid, son of renowned Pakistani film industry actress Neelo Begum, wrote an emotional message on his social media in memory of his late mother.

Shaan Shahid shared a memorable picture of his childhood on Twitter. In the picture, his late mother Neelo Begum is holding him in her arms.

Along with the photo shared on Twitter, Shaan Shahid also penned an emotional message for his mother.

“When I lost my father you held me like a father,” the actor said in his message on Twitter.

“When I walked I walked in your footsteps…when I ran you were always there at the finish line smiling,” he added.

He went on to say, “What you said became a law for me ..you started my journey and where you looked became my destination..”

80-year-old Neelo Begum recently passed away in Lahore as she lost her long-time battle from the fatal illness, cancer. The actress was the wife of film director Riaz Shahid and mother of actor Shaan Shahid. Her real name is Abida Riaz. Actress Neelo was born in Bheera in 1940. In 1956, she acted as a child star in the film Bhavani Junction.

She showed the true essence of acting in many memorable films, including Barat, Daaman, Kala Aadmi, Qatal ke baad, Beti, Jugni, Khyber Pass, Shikwa, Jan-e-Bahar, Kachian Kaliyan, Ishq par zor nahin, Husn-o-Ishq.

The song ‘Aaye Moosam Rangeele’ from the movie ‘saath lakh’ became the identity of Neelo Begum.
