Esra Bilgic, who portrays Halime Sultan in the historical drama series Dirilis: Ertugrul, has voiced her “indescribable sadness” over the recent forest fires in Turkey.

Thousands of firemen battled massive blazes spreading throughout the Mediterranean vacation regions of Turkey’s southern coast on Thursday, killing four people and injuring more than 180.

Esra rushed to Twitter to express her anguish, writing in Turkish “I am in indescribable sadness. We are not prepared for any disaster.”

“Why did you leave the forest entry bans to today? Why can’t we take action against anything?” Esra said after authorities banned entry to forests in İzmir and Balıkesir amid fires across Turkey.
