Director Mohamed Diab expressed his unhappiness with Warner Brothers’ upcoming release Black Adam, starring Dwayne Johnson, in a new interview with Filfan, via Comicbook. “I was particularly irritated with DC when they set Black Adam in a fictional middle eastern country as a pretext to cast non-Egyptians, when it was obviously meant to be in Egypt,” Diab explained. He went on to say that such chances to represent a culture should not be “squandered.”

“But it’s not a complete mistake because it’s based on an incarnation of the comics that doesn’t include Egypt,” Diab continued. He then disclosed his own ambitions to portray Egypt in all of its splendour. Saying, “Every culture should be represented by its people. So I hired Egyptian performers, an editor, a costume designer, an art director, and a composer.”

Meanwhile, the first season of the show will premiere on Disney Plus on March 30. Moon Knight stars Oscar Isaac as the main. Alongside Ethan Hawke as Arthur Harrow, May Calamawy as Layla El-Faouly, and others. Fans are overjoyed to see the much-anticipated event on their televisions.
