Huma Qureshi is set to star in the biopic of Tarla Dalal, a prominent chef, cookbook author, and culinary show host. In 1974, she published her first cookbook, The Pleasures of Vegetarian Cooking.

She has written over 100 books and sold over 10 million copies since then. In the 1980s and 1990s, it was rare to see a home without a Tarla Dalal book on the kitchen counter.

Tarla Dalal’s life story is reportedly being adapted for the big screen as a biopic. The film will be produced by Ronnie Screwvala, Nitesh, and Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari, and will star Huma Qureshi. According to rumours, Nitesh and Ashwiny’s associate Piyush Gupta would direct the biography.

According to reports, Huma has wanted to make a biography for a long time and admires Tarla Dalal’s contribution to Indian cooking, particularly vegetarian food.

The film is set to begin production in the few months. Huma has reportedly completed her look test and begun preparing for the role.

Huma is presently preparing for the role by reading about Tarla’s life and watching the directors’ materials.
