Oscars paid tribute to all the stars that passed away in the last year

On Sunday night, the 94th Academy Awards were held, and while there were many changes from prior presentations, one Oscars tradition remained. In Memoriam tribute was presented at the awards show. Honouring those who had passed away in the preceding year.

Since last year’s Oscars, numerous notable Hollywood figures have died. Including William Hurt, Peter Bogdanovich, Richard Donner, Ivan Reitman, Betty White, and Sidney Poitier. This year’s memorial, however, featured a live choral performance by The Samples Choir. Which included some more upbeat tunes. In a break from previous years, numerous presenters took to the stage to pay tribute to those who had died.

Tyler Perry gave moving tribute to Poitier. Ghostbusters star Bill Murray paid tribute to Reitman during the segment. and Jamie Lee Curtis and a lovely dog walked the stage to honour Betty White, who was not just a Hollywood icon but also a longtime animal lover. Jill Scott closed the tribute by saying, “Friends, family, classmates, individuals, we all know there will be loss.” “This is where we must pay tribute to the legacies. The memories that delighted us and reminded us of ourselves. This is where we thank the lights, where we proclaim their names, and where we clap our hands.”
