Prince Andrew will attend Prince Phillip’s funeral ceremony next week, according to his spokesperson, in his first public appearance since the sex abuse charges against him were settled.

His father, Prince Philip, died last year, and the thanksgiving ceremony at Westminster Abbey will honor his memory.

It will be The Duke of York’s first public appearance since allegedly paying Virginia Giuffre a £7 million payment to resolve a civil sex assault action launched against him in the United States.

The Queen is set to attend the service next Tuesday, despite Prince Harry’s announcement that he would not be going.

After agreeing to compensate Ms. Giuffre and her victims’ rights organization in a deal that avoided a trial in New York, Prince Andrew refuted any charges of misconduct.

However, there have been concerns regarding the prince’s reputation and his future participation in royal functions.

Fans of the royal family flocked to Twitter to vent their displeasure.

One person stated: “No way, no how! We never want to see him out in public! If he is required to attend, the service should not be broadcast!”
