Queen Elizabeth will spend more time at her and her late husband Prince Philip’s Balmoral estate, where they vacationed every summer according to international media.

The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh have an annual custom of spending a week of their summer vacations together at their own Craigowan Lodge on the Balmoral Estate.

Renovations are under ongoing at the seven-bedroom Lodge, which is located approximately a mile away from Balmoral Castle, according to the UK daily.

James Anderson, Chairman of the Ballater and Crathie Community Council, told PA news agency:

“We don’t see much of her when she is on the estate. However, it generates a lot of income for the village and for the area when she’s here.”

He went on to explain: “This is because of the number of staff and the business it brings; it is a good thing. It is a very relaxing area and she likes it up here.”
