Chris Rock roasting Will Smith’s wife Jada from 2016 resurfaces

Will Smith slapped Chris Rock in the face on stage at the Academy Awards after the comedian made a joke about the actor’s wife, Jada Pinkett Smith.

“Jada, I can’t wait for GI Jane 2,” he said, clearly referring to her shaved hairstyle, which was the result of the hair loss condition alopecia.

Smith walked onto the stage and hit Rock before returning to his seat and yelling, “Keep my wife’s name out of your [expletive] mouth!”

Since then, the story has gone viral. This isn’t the first time Chris has mocked Jada at the Academy Awards. As part of his hosting responsibilities at the event in 2016, the comedian mocked the actor’s attempt to boycott the award show. After the latest slap incident, a video of Chris roasting Jada and Will has emerged.

A video of part of Chris’ opening monologue is being shared on social media on Monday. It shows him addressing Jada’s boycott video. Podcaster Jason Calacanis shared the video on Twitter and wrote, “Ok, there’s some history here with Chris Rock and Will Smith and Jada. In the video, Chris is seen saying, “Jada said she’s not coming. I was like, ‘Isn’t she on a TV show?’ Jada’s gonna boycott the Oscars? Jada boycotting the Oscars is like me boycotting Rihanna’s panties. I wasn’t invited!”
