Soorarai Pottru is getting a Hindi remake. Akshay Kumar announced the project with Radhika Madan on social media. He said, “With the auspicious coconut-breaking and a small prayer in our heart, we begin the filming of our yet untitled film which is about dreams and the power of it. In case you’ll have any title suggestions, do share and of course your best wishes.”

Akshay also shared a video of Radhika breaking the coconut as filming for the project began. Radhika is seen wearing a red saree and a traditional look as she begins the shoot.

Suriya announced his collaboration with Akshay on social media. On Twitter, he shared photos of Akshay and wrote, “A new begining… need all your love and blessings!! @akshaykumar @Sudha_Kongara @gvprakash @CaptGopinath @CapeOfGoodFilm @Abundantia_Ent @2D_ENTPVTLTD.”

In addition to announcing the remake, Akshay asked fans to suggest a title. The Hindi remake will also be directed by Sudha Kongara.
