Arshad Warsi rebukes journalist for calling ‘Bachchhan Paandey’ a box office success

Arshad Warsi is known for his honest and blunt remarks in media. He recently rebuked a journalist In a media interaction, when the journalist said that Bachchhan Paandey was a success at box office. Arshad said “Don’t lie, it is not a success.”

He further said, “It was a good film, but unfortunately it happened, some things work, some things don’t. I feel it just went through a bad patch, there were various things that made it not as successful as it should have been. It is a big film, it should’ve made a lot more money, but it is still not a loss, it covered its money.”

Arshad Warsi also clarified that he doesn’t think the film failed because it didn’t get an OTT release. He said “No, I don’t think it is the OTT effect. Okay, I’ve got an answer for that, but I’m not going to say it. Let’s not get into it, it is a different space.”

Bachchhan Paandey was released on 18th March, 2022. The fans hoped for another Akshay Kumar hit, however, the film didn’t fulfilled the expectations of fans. The movie collected a mere less than 50 crore rupees by its opening weekend.

Bachchhan Pandey opened to mixed reviews by fans and critics and it hardly collected 50 crore in its first weekend. Film stars Akshay Kumar, Kriti Sanon and Arshad Warsi in leading roles.

Bachchhan Paandey is a remake of a Tamil movie Jigarthanda. It was released back in 2014 and directed by Farhad Samji. The film collected ₹37.25 crore during its opening weekend.
