Camila Cabello acknowledged that mental illness exists, and that it is critical to be open and “unfiltered” about one’s emotions.

On that note, the Seorita singer resorted to Instagram on Thursday to write a message in which she chastised those who promote “toxic optimism” and dismiss “anxious thoughts.”

“True,” the singer said in the post. It stated, “Sometimes we need help, and talking [expletive] like that makes us feel ashamed and guilty.”
Many psychologists have allegedly suggested that disregarding authentic, inner sensations might do more harm than help to one’s mental health.

Previously, in an interview with People, the Academy Award-winning singer discussed her struggle with “crippling anxiety” in the months following her two-year breakup with Shawn Mendes.

“Staying true to herself” was the only therapy that worked for her, according to the singer-songwriter.

Cabello’s third album, Familia, was released in the meanwhile, and it focused on “familiar themes of love and fear.”
