Chrissy Teigen blasts young mothers’ quest for perfection

Chrissy Teigen blasts young mothers’ quest for perfection.
Chrissy Teigen discusses the impact of social media on parenting and why she believes women today are under more pressure to be “perfect.”
The topic came up at a Miami panel with important people and celebrity parents including Jeannie Mai Jenkins, Serena Williams, and Amber Ridinger for the Frida mom event.
She started the dialogue by addressing social media’s continual and ‘totally false’ portrayal of pregnancy, delivery, and parenthood.
And she confessed that “Instagram perfection is a significant part” in why women are unprepared for the realities of it all.
“The ability to commiserate and form a relationship is the key to grow confident individuals and moms,” she was reportedly quoted as saying.
“Pooping on the table wasn’t discussed, and it’s good to be honest after witnessing how filtered everything is all of the time.”
“Whether it’s actual filtering or Instagram’s word filter, it makes you feel like you’re the only one going through anything.”
Teigen also discussed her choice to talk openly about the death of her son Jack, admitting that she had “no regrets” and “would do it all over again” because of the “number of people that come up to me at even just an amusement park to tell me about their experiences.”
“Those grief photographs resonate more than anything I’ve ever uploaded, and connecting with other individuals about our shared experiences has been healing for me.”
