Alex Beresford has announced his engagement to partner Imogen McKay after asking the question on a Majorcan beach on New Year’s Day.

Alex Beresford is set to tie knot and say “I do” after his girlfriend Imogen McKay agreed to become his wife.

GMB weather presenter, revealed that he has popped the question to the while on holiday in Majorca over New Year. He was happy and excited to announce his fiancée was chuffed to say “yes” after his romantic gesture.

Couple, first met through a mutual friend, hit it off from the start after being set up on a blind date.

Speaking in interview, Alex confessed that prior to meeting his new wife-to-be, he had been single for some time but didn’t want to try dating websites.  “I’ m of an age where before social media, you met a girl, took her phone number and called to invite her out.”

He confessed that basically his pal joked that Imogen would be “too good for you” and that is what made him want their date organized.

Imogen, who was basically from in Australia but now work in e-commerce in London admitted she didn’t know who host was at first but also happily described how well their opening date went.

At first pair continued dating long distance and then they regularly travelled to see each other in Bristol and London.

Alex described the “amazing moment” he stunned his partner by asking the question on New Year’s Day as they walked along a Majorcan beach.

He said: “The weather was sunny and warm, and the sea was crystal clear.

“This is it,”

“Imogen’s not one for taking photos, but as I persuaded her to pose for a picture overlooking the sea, I kneeled down to take the engagement ring I’d hidden inside my rucksack.”
