The Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall will go to Canada in May to commemorate the Queen’s historic Platinum Jubilee, it was announced today (April 11).

Prince Charles and Camilla are scheduled to go to Newfoundland, Labrador, Ottawa, and the Northwest Territories, which are located close to the Arctic Circle.

This is the latest in a series of royal trips planned to commemorate Her Majesty’s 70th year on the throne. The Earl and Countess of Wessex will travel the Caribbean at the end of this month, while Princess Anne is now in Australia and Papua New Guinea.

It is hoped that Prince Charles and Camilla will have the opportunity to see Lilibet, their granddaughter, for the first time.

The pair last visited Canada in 2017, when they met Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and commemorated the 150th anniversary of Confederation.

Camilla has gone to Canada four times, whereas Prince Charles has been there 18 times. The Queen, who visited the country an amazing 20 times, has a comparable figure.

While little specifics of the tour have been disclosed, it is believed that the pair will visit with members of several local communities throughout the Commonwealth country.

As the couple prepares to go to Canada for the tour, speculation has swirled about whether Prince Charles will finally get to see his granddaughter, Lilibet, as well as reconcile with his grandson, Archie.

While there is still some distance between Canada and the house of The Duke and Duchess of Sussex in Los Angeles, flights from Toronto would take five hours and flights from Vancouver would take four hours.
