‘I was lifeless,’ Ireland Baldwin says of her fight with substance misuse
In a recent interview, Ireland Baldwin was up about her problem with substance misuse.
Willow Smith, the daughter of Alec Baldwin and Kim Basinger, opened out about her drug addiction in a Red Table Talk interview.
“I just hit a total breaking point and I was self-medicating with Xanax and I was drinking,” she said Smith in a preview peek from the next episode.
“I come from a family of alcoholics and drug addicts,” the 26-year-old model explained. “I had a night when I went much too far with the drinking and taking medications to the point where I couldn’t even sleep.”
“I had alienated all of my actual friends, secluded my family,” she added. In my life, I had no control over anything. I used to punish myself with my eating issues.”
Ireland recalls, “I didn’t talk to my parents for a year.” “I ran into them now and again, but I was ashamed of who I’d become and how I was living.”
“I simply became this new person,” the model said. In every sense, I looked malnourished. “I was devoid of life.”
Ireland has been open about her drug addiction issues with her fans and following. She will have been rid of her eating issues for six years in 2020.
“I wanted to declare that today is the 15th of August, and today marks six years that I have been free of anorexia and bulimia, as well as all of my other food compulsions and eating disorders that I have fought with for many years,” she said in a video on Instagram.
