In the most recent episode of Jada Pinkett-Red Smith’s Table Talk, Grammy-nominated singer Janelle Monáe came out as non-binary.

Janelle confessed on the April 20 broadcast of the chat show with presenters Jada and Willow Smith: “I just don’t view myself purely as a woman.” “I can feel every ounce of my strength.”

“I feel like God is so much greater than the ‘he’ or the’she,'” Janelle said, still using she/her pronouns. I am everything if I am from God.”

The news comes four years after Janelle said she was pansexual in 2018. Pansexuality is defined as a desire to be attracted to individuals regardless of their gender or sex.

Janelle, on the other hand, stated that she will “always stand with women,” particularly black women.

“I shall always, always, always, always, always, always, always, always, always, always, always, always, I will always be a supporter of Black women. But, beyond the binary, I just see all that I am,” she explained.

The I Like That singer went on to say that she is more interested in people’s energy than their gender or sexuality.

“I’m not sure how you define yourself.” And I believe it allows you to fall in love with anyone, with any wonderful soul,” she explained.

Janelle will appear in Netflix’s forthcoming murder mystery Knives Out 2 on the job front.
