Tom Hardy is an English actor, producer, screenwriter and former model. After studying acting at the Drama Centre London, he made his film debut in Ridley Scott’s Black Hawk Down.

Tom Hardy, the next James Bond candidate and star of Peaky Blinders, has had a “poor week” as his and Idris Elba’s prospects of succeeding Daniel Craig as 007 fades.

Bond producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson pledged that no news would be released until Daniel Craig’s time as the British spy had officially ended. His reign as the seventh Bond has come to a climactic and definitive end with No Time To Die. He will not be able to return. With all eyes on who will be the next to slide into a tuxedo, it appears that the time for two erstwhile frontrunners has passed.

Despite being thought to be dead, Hardy has resurfaced in the public eye with the return of Alfie Solomons to the sixth and final series of Peaky Blinders. Hardy has long been a favourite to join Her Majesty’s Secret Service, assuming there is no similar rebirth for Craig.

Despite his public declaration that he will not discuss it, the 44-year-old actor has a large number of followers who favour him for 007.

Unfortunately, according to the latest recent odds from Ladbrokes, he, along with the original front-runner, has dropped out of the race.
