Sam Neill is an actor, director, producer, and screenwriter from New Zealand. Neill relocated to Christchurch, New Zealand, with his family in 1954.

The other films that have spawned from its powerful dinosaur DNA, the original Jurassic Park is a fantastic film. To help us remember that fact, the 1993 original’s Sam Neill, Laura Dern, and Jeff Goldblum have teamed up to promote Jurassic World Dominion by spending the majority of a new Vanity Fair interview remembering their first time working together.

They cover a wide range of Park-related issues during the talk, from how Goldblum’s famous bare-chested posture came to be to an explanation for Neill’s quasi-American accent.

“I get a lot of flack to this day,” Neill says of the last statement, referring to people who equate his accent work to “a bag of T-rex crap.” While it’s far from the worst accent ever committed to film, Neill claims that Steven Spielberg changed his mind about how Dr. Alan Grant should speak during filming, which damaged his performance.
