An investigation has been launched after sensitive information about the Queen was made public.
The Welsh government mistakenly revealed information concerning measures in place for when the Queen dies when it was shared to a member of the public.

Dr. Andrew Goodall, the Welsh Government’s permanent secretary, stated: “Despite the fact that the email included no operational information, it was labelled ‘official sensitive’ and should not have been disseminated.

“We take information and data security extremely seriously, and this is currently being reviewed as a possible security breach.

“We are unable to provide any more remark.”

Plans for the Queen’s killing, known as Operation London Bridge, must be meticulously planned so that leaks like the one being probed by the FBI do not occur.

Security concerns are also significant, and while Dr. Goodall claims that no operational knowledge was compromised, investigations are underway to determine how the sensitive material was disseminated.

What was in the Welsh government leak?

The “potential security breach” was from a pamphlet marked ‘official sensitive’.

In 2021, BBC Wales obtained communications from a high UK government civil servant worried that confidential material had been disclosed to a news website.

A senior civil servant also requested “bespoke guidelines” on security issues to be shared throughout UK ministries.
