Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith once discussed the ‘changing moment’ in their marriage, implying that it was the catalyst for Jada’s romance with August Alsina, a 29-year-old musician.

After the notorious Oscars 2022 brawl, a footage from The Red Table Talk has resurfaced on social media, in which the King Richard actor can be heard admitting that Jada was displeased with her husband’s 40th birthday event.

During the most difficult moment of their wedding, Will said Jada labelled the preparations a “ridiculous exhibition” of his “own ego.”

“I think hitting 40 was the turning moment in our relationship for me,” Jada said.

The Oscar winner agreed, revealing that he spent three years planning a heartfelt surprise for Jada’s 40th birthday.

“I hired a crew the day after her 37th birthday to plan her 40th birthday,” he stated.

“I hired a documentary crew and tracked down Mommy’s ancestors.” “I was going to plan her 40th birthday!”

“It was supposed to be the thing that would get her through her midlife crisis.” It was supposed to be my most beautiful and heartfelt declaration of love.”

Smith, on the other hand, was accused by Jada of making the event all about him. “Are you crushed?” And I know I was heartbroken because it was true to this day. Smith concurred, “It wasn’t a celebration for her.”

On an episode of the same show in July 2020, Jada admitted to having an affair with then-27-year-old Alsina.

The pair also discussed Smith’s statement to Jada, “I’d had enough of you (expletive). I’d had enough of you. Marriages, on the other hand, have that.”
