After getting smacked by Will Smith at the Oscars, Chris Rock will earn £2 million.

According to insiders, Chris was swamped with huge money offers for his first interview, with Oprah Winfrey and Ellen DeGeneres competing for his first words.
Chris’ bank account will be boosted by more than simply the bidding war over his first interview.

According to Hollywood insiders, the comedian’s comedy act has become the hottest ticket in town.

“Chris has handled the issue with Will with such elegance and composure – and it’s paying off,” an insider added.

“Hollywood can’t get enough of him, and while fans of Will Smith are flocking to see Chris, fans of Will Smith are flocking to see him.”

“His comedy tour is now sold out months in advance, and due to the increased demand, he has added more dates.”

“Chris has opted to remain silent for the time being, which is understandable given the high stakes involved in his initial interview.

“Both Oprah Winfrey and Ellen DeGeneres have expressed interest in getting Chris’ first sit-down interview on the slap and its aftermath.

“Chris isn’t in a hurry; he wants to make sure he’s at the proper place before committing to anything.”

Will, 53, smacked Chris, 57, after he made a joke about his wife Jada Pinkett-Smith has gone down in Oscar history as the most stunning moment.

After The Academy stated they were voting on disciplinary action, Will was given two weeks to rescue his Hollywood career.

Will is preparing for a hearing on April 18 to present his case.

“Things are hanging in the balance,” a source added. He’ll compose an official letter apologising for his actions and basically begging for pardon.

“In the following 24 hours, he is also anticipated to speak with show executives.” But it’s April 18 that he’ll find out if he still has an Oscar and, potentially, a career.”

Smith’s forthcoming projects, including the Apple-funded slave escape thriller Emancipation, are shrouded in mystery, with officials refusing to comment on its anticipated release.

He’ll also be back in the fourth instalment of the Bad Boys franchise, though no start date has been established.

“Production executives and studio leaders do not want to be seen selecting a side too early,” the person said.
