Akshay Kumar decided to skip Cannes Film Festival after testing positive for COVID-19:  ‘I’ll miss being there a lot”

Akshay Kumar has tested positive for COVID-19. He informed it on Twitter.

Akshay Kumar posted to his social media account to inform his fans that he had tested positive for COVID-19. The actor, who was supposed to walk the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival in France in 2022, has decided to forego it. The 54-year-old turned to Twitter to provide an update on his health. Akshay also wished the squad that will represent the country at the festival the best of luck. He also cited Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting, Youth Affairs, and Sports Anurag Thakur, saying that he will’really miss’ Cannes 2022.

“Was really looking forward to rooting for our cinema at the India Pavilion at #Cannes2022, but have sadly tested positive for Covid. Will rest it out. Loads of best wishes to you and your entire team,@ianuragthakur. Will really miss being there,”  the actor penned Pooja Hegde, a pan-India actor, and music master AR Rahman are among the many celebrities expected to walk the red carpet at this year’s prestigious festival. Apart from them, prominent actress Deepika Padukone will serve on the jury for India at Cannes 2022. From May 17 to May 28, the event will take place.

 

Meanwhile, Akshay Kumar will next be seen in the film Prithviraj, alongside Manushi Chhillar. He’s also working on Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, Oh My God 2, and Gorkha. Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, which will be released on December 22, 2023, also stars Tiger Shroff. The film will, interestingly, conflict with Shah Rukh Khan’s Dunki.
