The gorgeous cast of Pakistani film Joyland earned a standing ovation at its debut, and the picture is receiving a big reception at the Cannes Film Festival.

A video from the renowned event is making the rounds on social media, in which the director Saim Sadiq can be seen beaming with joy after getting the accolades for his outstanding work.
The film has been chosen for the Un Certain Regard category for the uninitiated.

Cannes only accepts 14 films in the category, so it is a source of great pride that a Pakistani film made the cut – for the first time in history!

As they arrived at the star-studded, glamour-filled event, the cast and crew represented the country.

Meanwhile, other media personalities like as actor Osman Khalid Butt and film director Nabeel Qureshi have been congratulating the Joyland crew on their achievement.
