According to Express UK, Queen Elizabeth has gone to Balmoral for a’short holiday’ before the Platinum Jubilee celebrations begin this weekend.

On Friday, a royal insider revealed to the site that the 96-year-old monarch had travelled to her Scottish residence of Balmoral on May 26 in order to get some rest before the celebrations begin on June 2.

The trip comes as fears over the Queen’s health have grown in recent months, despite recent sightings of the queen appearing to be in good spirits.

The Queen is said to have ‘episodic mobility problems,’ which might be the reason for her quick journey to Scotland, according to close sources.

The Queen is already expected to have a limited role in her Jubilee celebrations due to her declining health.
