During her evidence in Johnny Depp’s current defamation lawsuit against ex-wife Amber Heard, star Ellen Barkin described the actor as “jealous, dominating, and frequently inebriated.”

Ellen, who dated Johnny in the 1990s, is testifying for the defence. She also stated in a pre-recorded statement on Thursday that Johnny once threw a wine bottle in his Las Vegas hotel room.

In the 1990s, Ellen, 68, revealed she had a brief “sexual connection” with Johnny. In November 2019, her evidence was filmed and shown for the seven-person jury hearing the defamation lawsuit in Virginia’s Fairfax County Circuit Court.

In her testimony, she claimed that over the months they were together, Johnny was frequently intoxicated and envious, she said, “He was drunk a lot of the time. He was a red wine drinker. He’s just a jealous man, controlling — ‘Where are you going? Who are you going with? What did you do last night?’”

Johnny would accuse her of cheating on him, she alleged, “I had a scratch on my back once that got him very, very angry because he insisted it came from me having sex with a person who wasn’t him.”
