In a major hate crime this week, an unnamed guy attacked K-pop star Holland.

The Korean singer revealed photographs of his scarred face on Thursday (May 5) as well as details of the incident, which occurred on Wednesday (May 4).

Holland, actual name Go Tae-seob, was walking in the Itaewon neighbourhood of Seoul with his manager and a buddy when a mysterious man approached them and assaulted them.

“He hit me on the face twice, calling me ‘a dirty gay.’ Now I have a scar on my face and I’m going to the hospital soon,” Holland wrote.

“This is obviously a hate crime,” he added. “The fact that my sexuality as gay is public should never expose myself to this kind of violence. Nor any other LGBT+ and all elders, women and minorities in this world. This happening in 2022 shows the sad reality of LGBT+ human rights.”

Holland verified in the most recent post that he had reported the assault to the local police and hoped that they would find the perpetrator.

“This should never happen to anybody in this world, no matter who you are. I wish our world is filled with more love and hope rather than hate and violence,” the “Neverland” singer concluded.

Holland stated that he has a boyfriend during a recent live webcast.

“Very handsome and kind, tall,” the 26-year-old said of his new significant other. He also stated that his boyfriend is a “normal person” who does not work in the entertainment world.

Holland is widely regarded as one of, if not the first, openly gay K-pop stars. He came out to his parents just before making his professional music debut in 2018. When he was in middle school, though, he came out to a few of his pals.
